HARRISBURG – Rep. David Millard (R-Columbia) today in Harrisburg voted for Senate Bill 255, the General Appropriations portion of the state budget, which was approved by the House of Representatives. The 2021-22 Pennsylvania budget would spend $39 billion in General Fund dollars, and $1 billion in federal relief funds, to fund the core functions of government services and invest in jobs, infrastructure and education, all while avoiding any new or increased taxes.

Millard: Governor’s Proposed Budget Would Hurt Pennsylvanians

HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Wolf today issued his proposal for Pennsylvania’s 2021-22 budget. The governor has proposed a budget of $40.2 billion, which is an increase of $3 billion, or 8.2% over the 2019-20 budget. Focal points of the governor’s proposal included a 46% increase in Personal Income Tax (PIT) rates, an increased minimum wage and a severance tax on natural gas production.

Millard Announces Over $334,000 in Grants for Area First Responders

David Millard (R-Columbia) today announced that the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) has awarded $334,111 in grants to volunteer first responder organizations in the 109th legislative district through the COVID-19 Crisis Fire, Rescue and EMS Grant program. Governor’s Veto of Sports Spectator Bill Upheld by House, Millard Express Disappointment

David Millard (R-Columbia) today announced that the House of Representatives has failed to overturn the governor’s veto of House Bill 2787, which would allow decisions regarding school sports and spectators to be made by local school districts rather than by statewide mandate. The motion failed with a vote of 130-71, short of the 2/3 majority needed to overturn.

Millard Announces $1 Million for Flood Control Studies in Columbia County

Columbia County to Receive $5.8 Million in Federal Relief Funds

HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives today passed Senate Bill 1108, which would distribute approximately $2.6 billion in federal relief funds throughout Pennsylvania’s counties as well as across various state government departments. Of that total, $625 million is allocated to 60 Pennsylvania counties who have not yet received funds directly from the federal government. Rep. David Millard (R-Columbia) announced that, based on population, Columbia County would receive $5,866,824 in appropriated funds.
