Millard Announces Alcohol Abuse Prevention Grants
HARRISBURG – Two Bloomsburg entities will receive more than $77,000 in state grant funds to support initiatives aimed at reducing underage and dangerous drinking, Rep. David Millard (R-Berwick) announced today.

β€œIt is my hope that these grants will go a long way toward promoting responsible decision making and a safer community for residents,” Millard said.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) recently awarded the Bloomsburg Police Department $40,000 and Bloomsburg University $37,740 to support law enforcement, educational and alcohol abuse prevention programs and strategies.

The PLCB Bureau of Alcohol Education received 103 applications for the 2015-17 grant cycle and has awarded a total of $2,274,291 to 65 entities across the state.
