Caring for a Senior Loved One? Millard to Sponsor Caregiver Expo
BLOOMSBURG – Rep. David Millard (R-Berwick) announced today that he will be sponsoring an educational forum to ensure local residents serving as senior caregivers are aware of all available resources.
The senior caregiver support forum will be held on Wednesday, April 8, starting at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Large Meeting Room, 702 Sawmill Road, Bloomsburg.
“Serving as a caregiver to elderly loved ones can be challenging,” Millard said. “Many are thrust into the role with little to no preparation. That is why we continually sponsor these forums; to serve as a concise, one-stop educational shop to build awareness and assist folks in obtaining all of the resources available.”
The event will feature brief, informative sessions. The following persons/organizations are slated to participate in the forum:
APPRISE health insurance and Medicare counseling program.
Columbia Montour Home Health and Hospice.
Local Elder Law attorney Marianne Kreisher, CELA.
LIFE (Living Independently for Elders) Geisinger.
Columbia-Montour Aging Office.
Columbia County Veterans Affairs Office.
The event will also provide time for questions. In order to ensure all attendees have adequate time to have their questions answered, the event will be only open to a limited number of residents. To RSVP, residents should call Millard’s district office at 570-387-0246, or sign up online at
