Millard to Sponsor Senior Caregiver Support Forum
BLOOMSBURG – In an effort to make sure local residents serving as caregivers for seniors are aware of all available resources, state Rep. David Millard (R-Millville) is sponsoring an educational forum.

Millard’s senior caregiver support forum will be held on Tuesday, June 19, starting at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Orangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center, 200 Berwick Rd. (Rt. 93) in Orangeville.

“Many serving as caregivers are thrust into the role with little to no preparation,” Millard said. “I am hopeful this forum will serve as a compact and educational evening that helps caregivers become aware of all of the resources available to them. We’ll also be allowing plenty of time for questions and answers.”

The lawmaker listed those slated to participate in the forum:

        - Orangeville Rehab (the Spirit of Health Care);
        - Columbia Montour Home Health and Hospice;
        - Local Elder Law attorney Marianne Kreisher Fogelsanger, CELA;
        - Columbia Montour Aging Office;
        - Local ministry leaders.
Those wishing to attend the forum must RSVP to Millard’s office by calling 570-387-0246. This event will be kept to a small number of registrants to ensure that all questions get adequate time and answers from the panelists.

Two more forums of this nature are scheduled for 2012: Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Berwick Hospital, and Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Columbia-Montour Aging Office in Bloomsburg. Additional details on these events will be announced closer to the time.
