Bloomsburg Airport Named Recipient of State Grant Funding, Millard Announces
BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg Municipal Airport is one of nine airports across Pennsylvania that will benefit from a $10 million state grant, State Rep. David R. Millard (R-Millville) announced today.

“Small regional airports, like Bloomsburg, are important sustenance for many aspects of local economies,” Millard said. “I’m grateful to see that Columbia County’s airport was able to make this short list for funding.”

Millard said that the Bloomsburg Airport will receive $500,000 to rehabilitate a building, by replacing the heating system and electrical wiring.

The grant was distributed through the Capital Budget/Transportation Assistance Program, which is funded through state capital bond dollars in the General Fund budget. The grants leverage more than $12 million in matching funds. Authorized by the Pennsylvania Legislature, the grants are administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Bureau of Aviation.
