Millard to Host Senior Expo
7/18/2011

BLOOMSBURG – Rep. David R. Millard (R-Millville) invites all Columbia County senior citizens and their families to participate in his Senior Expo on Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon.  The event will be held at the Espy Fire Hall, Third and Tenny streets in Bloomsburg. Admission is free.

“Seniors and their families will find a wealth of information on state agencies and current issues,” Millard said.  “Local seniors have had a great time at this event year after year.”

Millard said that representatives will be on hand from several Pennsylvania departments and agencies.  A wide variety of resources on topics such as estates and financial planning, in-home health care options, transportation assistance and identity theft prevention will be available. A complete list of participating vendors is available online at RepMillard.com.

Outside of the fire hall, veterans who attend the expo may visit the Mobile Vets Help Center.  The center is staffed and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans seeking help with assistance in applying for VA benefits, medical referrals, employment counseling and various types of individual and family counseling can speak to the staff.

Additionally, free refreshments and door prizes will be available.  Doors will open for the expo at 8:45 a.m.

For more information on the event, call Millard’s district office in Bloomsburg at 387-0246 or in Berwick at 759-8734.
