BLOOMSBURG – For the purpose of showcasing the talent of local artists, Rep. David Millard (R-Berwick) is inviting residents of the 109th Legislative District to a public reception on Monday, May 20, from 6-8 p.m. at his Bloomsburg district office.
“I enjoy providing a forum for talented local artists to showcase their work and meet members of the community,” said Millard. “These receptions are always pleasant events that combine wonderful local art with an opportunity for residents to learn what services my office can provide.”
The reception will feature the work of three local artists:
• Trina Truax, a Berwick resident who paints primarily in oils.
• Dave Tamkus, a Shamokin area artist who works in mixed media.
• Robert Doucette, a Millville-based photographer who also taught art in Millville area schools for more than 30 years.
All artists are anticipated to attend the event. Their artwork will be on display in Millard’s offices during the next several weeks.
While at the reception, constituents will also have the opportunity to interact with Millard and his staff on state-related issues and learn more about services available through the representative’s office.
There is no charge to attend the reception and light refreshments will be served. For more information, residents should call 570-387-0246. Millard’s Bloomsburg office is located in the Market Street Plaza at 1000 Market St. in Bloomsburg.
Millard has displayed local artwork at his legislative offices in Bloomsburg, Berwick and at the state Capitol in Harrisburg during his entire tenure serving as a legislator.
